Accessible versions of the Superveloce 800 and Brutale 1000 confirmed

MV Agusta will launch the gorgeous Superveloce 800 and the Brutale 1000 with fewer fancy bits unlike the Serie Oro counterparts to make them more accessible to enthusiasts

Not so long ago, MV Agusta announced their plans to make the Superveloce 800 and Brutale 1000 concepts into production bikes. Flaunting the company’s Serie Oro tag, the bikes are limited to 300 examples each…until now. MV Agusta CEO Timur Sardarov has now revealed that after the Serie Oro run, the company will introduce more ‘accessible’ versions of these bikes. And that’s not all. Like the Superveloce 800, more bikes inspired by MV Agusta’s heritage will be unveiled.

Superveloce 800 Serie Oro

Unveiled at the EICMA 2018, the Superveloce 800 concept highlighted the company’s racing heritage. The bike is based on the F3 800, right from the inline-three cylinder, 798cc motor producing 146bhp and 87.9Nm to the riding position and even the frame being borrowed from the supersports. However, that’s where the similarities end.

As an ode to the company’s racing heritage, the Superveloce draws inspiration from their 70s racing beauties. From the classic cutline to the carbonfibre fairing to the yellow-tinted plexiglass windscreen and headlamp, the bike screams 70’s. Details like the leather strap for the fuel lid, the exclusive SC Project asymmetrical three-one-three exhaust, the minimalistic tail with a removable cowl make the Superveloce all the more appealing. The circular headlamp and the taillight look retro but house futuristic LED illumination. Behind the retro-looking windscreen is a full-colour TFT, straight from the Tourismo Veloce.

After receiving overwhelming response from enthusiasts, MV Agusta decided to put it into production as Superveloce 800 Serie Oro, limited to 300 examples and with a sticker price of GBP 27,990 or Rs 24.6 lakh (excluding Indian taxes and duties).

Brutale 1000 Serie Oro

The Brutale 1000 too made its debut at EICMA 2018 and won the award for the most beautiful motorcycle at the show. This Brutale boasts of an inline-four, 998cc engine from the range-topping F4 RC and makes a staggering 209bhp and 114.7Nm of peak twist, making it the most powerful sports naked in the world (until the Streetfighter V4 arrives?).

The Brutale 1000 Serie Oro is showered with top-shelf equipment like Ohlins fully-adjustable suspension, carbonfibre wheels, carbonfibre bits on the body and an aero exhaust. To keep this manic bike’s front wheel on the ground, the bike gets 2 spoilers mounted next to the radiator. Braking duties are handled by Brembo Stylema callipers gripping 320mm discs at the front.

This bike too is limited to a 300-unit run. However, MV Agusta has not announced any pricing information yet.

The ‘accessible’ versions of these bikes will likely be devoid of the carbonfibre bits, and will run lower-spec suspension and braking units along with a standard exhaust rather than an Arrow or SC Project screamer. There’s no word on these bikes making it to our shores yet, however, like the F3 800 RC and the Brutale 800 RR America, here’s hoping that Motoroyale snags a few for the country!
