The 2022 Ducati Scrambler Urban Motard is the newest addition to the Scrambler range by Ducati in India. The bike is aimed more at city riding, and thus has been given specific change to facilitate riding in the urban environment. These changes including a new paint scheme, a different wheel, new features and other changes. Let’s take a look at what is different.

The Ducati Scrambler Urban Motard is powered by the same 803cc L-Twin engine that is shared with the rest of the Scrambler 800 range. It produces 72bhp and 66Nm of torque. The bike now has 17-inch spoked wheels instead of the 18-inch wheels before, which are clothed in road-centric Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tyres that help city performance. The Urban Motard has been given a new paint livery from the Centro Stile Ducati, incorporating the Star White Silk and Ducati GP '19 Red colour in a retro design. There is also Kayaba suspension present at both the front and the rear as well as Ducati’s latest multimedia system with bluetooth and smartphone connectivity. The bike is considerably lightweight, coming in at 180kg.

Speaking at the launch of the Urban Motard, Bipul Chandra, Managing Director of Ducati India said, “The Scrambler Urban Motard is a motorcycle created for the Ducatisti to experience the urban environment in a fun and energetic way. The original livery of the bike is inspired by the world of street art and metropolitan graffiti, and it can’t go unnoticed thanks to its unmatched style and sporty character. The Scrambler Urban Motard is one distinctive machine in the Scrambler line up and we are happy to introduce it to our riding community!”

The Ducati Scrambler Urban Motard has been priced at ₹11.49 lakh and is now on sale across India. It will rival similar bikes from BMW and Triumph in India, although Ducati has traditionally been a more expensive proposition over both brands.
