Honda Activa 125 BS6 launched at Rs 67,490

Honda’s first BS6 offering has been launched in the form of Activa 125. Priced at Rs 67,490 for the standard variant, the range extends to Alloy and Deluxe. The Activa 125 BS6 comes loaded with new features, including fuel injection that recently made its debut on the Hero Maestro Edge 125.

What’s new?

The new Activa 125 is bigger than the previous gen model being 36mm longer, 3mm wider and 19mm taller. The BS6-compliant 124cc, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine makes 8.17bhp at 6500rpm making it slightly less powerful than it’s BS4 counterpart however it is claimed to be 13 per cent more efficient.

Features:

The new Activa 125 gets a semi-digital speedometer with an eco indicator, side stand warning, real time and overall fuel efficiency read out. The scooter gets a malfunction light as well as a service due indicator. It is also the first scooter to prevent the engine from starting up if side stand is down. The scooter also gets an idling stop system that will switch off the engine at traffic lights and then turn back on as soon as you twist the throttle. The new Activa also gets an external fuel filler cap with a toggle on the apron to open the cap without having to get off the scooter.

Price and Variants:

The Activa 125 BS6 range starts at Rs 67,490 for the ‘Standard’ variant. The Alloy variant is priced Rs 70,990 while the Deluxe variant will set you back by Rs 74,490. The price is slightly higher than the BS4 counterpart but it is what we expected since BS6 engines require more sophisticated engineering.

The Hero Maestro Edge 125 FI is priced at Rs 63,200 (ex-showroom Delhi) but we expect the BS6 version to be slightly more expensive and in the vicinity of the Activa 125 BS6. Until then, the Activa 125 BS6 has the field to itself.
