Dakar 2021 Stage 10 | The Monster Energy Honda trio dominates for the second time in a row
The Monster Energy Honda team dominated in the tenth stage as well, retaining its leadership in the top three positions for the second time. Team Monster Energy Honda rider Ricky Brabec came in P1 with a timing of 03:12:33 hours, followed by teammate Joan Barreda Bort at P2 with a difference of 03:15 minutes and Kevin Benavides at P3 with a difference of 05:11 minutes from the leader, respectively.
Stage ten - commencing from Neom and ending at Al Ula - was a total of 583km (including a 342km special). Kevin Benavides, the winner from stage nine, was the first to start, and was seen leading at WP1. Following him was Ricky Brabec, while Bas Dakar KTM Racing team’s Skyler Howes was at third place, ahead of Joan Barreda Bort.
After the 252km mark, Jose Ignacio Cornejo Florimo, who was at P3 in the ninth stage, crashed. At the 282km mark, we saw Brabec going past JBB with a difference of 02:30 minutes, with RedBull KTM Factory team’s Mathias Walkner coming in over five minutes later. Meanwhile, Cornejo was behind the leader by 10:41 minutes due to his crash.
Stage ten concluded with Ricky Brabec taking his third win this year, including the prologue.
