Idemitsu Honda India Talent Hunt reaches Delhi NCR

After identifying the upcoming racing talents from east and south India, the Idemitsu Honda India Talent Hunt has arrived in Delhi NCR. The Idemitsu Honda India Talent Hunt is Honda’s unique initiative that aims to groom the best riders, some as young as 13 years of age, for a career spanning national and international racing championships. After four successful rounds in Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Aizawl, round 5 began on December 22 and saw participation from 19 youngsters, the youngest of them only 15 years of age.

The candidates go through three levels of tests. Physical fitness is the first test. Then comes race orientation and riding skills, especially for the race track. Finally, a jury interview, where candidates as well as their guardians are gauged on their passion for motorsport as well as family support in taking it up as a career.

Prabhu Nagaraj, vice president, brand and communication, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI), Chandan Burdak, division head, motorsports, and Ramji Govindrajan, director-Ten10 Racing represented the jury.

The shortlisted candidates of the Delhi NCR talent hunt will be trained to ride on the track in Phase II. Honda will then pick successful candidates for further training to join the 12 selected for the Honda Talent Cup CBR 150R category in the 2019 season.

Speaking on the occasion, Prabhu Nagaraj, vice president, brand and communication, HMSI said, The Idemitsu Honda India Talent Hunt is a part of our new motorsports direction and building a structure to develop young talent in the country.
