Aprilia has finally taken the wraps off the 2021 RSV4 and Tuono V4. Both bikes get standard and factory variants. The bikes feature an updated design, inspired from the Aprilia RS 660 and receive a host of new updates that gear them to take the fight to the competition. Let’s take a closer look at the bikes.

Let's begin with what's new in terms of aesthetics. The fairing and bodywork have been redesigned to improve aerodynamics and downforce while the winglets are now integrated into the double fairing and are no longer attached. The standard RSV4 will be available in the Dark Losail colour scheme while the RSV4 Factory will be available in the Aprilia Black and Lava Red colour schemes.

Design changes also bring improved ergonomics to the table with the 2021 RSV4 now getting a new fuel tank and a saddle that should give the rider more space and better comfort. Moving on to the chassis, a major change is the addition of the new swingarm that is inspired from the RS-GP MotoGP bike. The swingarm is lighter and has a reinforced lower brace that should improve stability.

Although, what will set the enthusiasts' hearts racing is the bigger 1099cc V4 engine (the outgoing unit was a 1077cc V4). The bump in displacement means that the power output of the RSV4 now stands at a mind boggling 214bhp while the torque figures haven’t been disclosed as of yet.

The package is complete with addition of an updated Marelli 11MP electronics suite that is mated to a new six-axis IMU. The APRC (Aprilia performance ride controls) suite has also been updated and refined.

Talking about the RSV4 Factory, it gets forged aluminum wheels, semi-active Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 suspension system and Brembo Stylema calipers as standard.

The 2021 Tuono V4 gets the same 1077cc V4 as the outgoing model, but it is now Euro5 compliant. Power and torque figures remain identical at 172bhp and 121Nm. The Tuono V4 shares a number of components with the RSV4. This includes the new swingarm, new Marelli 11MP electronics suite with the new six-axis IMU and updated APRC suite. The tank and saddle have also been borrowed from the RSV4 while the handle bar is taller all of which should help improve the riding experience.

The Tuono V4 Factory gets the Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 suspension system as standard. The standard Tuono V4 will be available in the Tarmac Grey and Glacier White colour schemes while the Tuono V4 Factory will be available in the Aprilia Black colour scheme.

Pricing and availability

The 2021 Aprilia RSV4 and Tuono have only been unveiled for now and have yet to be launched in the international market. That being said, the bikes should most certainly make their way to Indian shores and for that, we can’t wait.
