Triumph Motorcycles showcases the updated Rocket III

Triumph Motorcycles had been constantly updating their portfolio and bringing a host of updates to their motorcycles. The Daytona and Rocket III were, however, left behind. While we are still not certain about the Daytona’s future, Triumph has shown glimpses of the Rocket III going under the knife. And it’s more than just a nip-and-tuck.

Triumph Motorcycles have revealed a sketch of the next iteration of their badass cruiser at their annual conference, followed by a production-ready prototype riding through the stage. While details are scarce at the moment, Triumph claims the power output would be in excess of 180bhp featuring an all-new 2.5 litre in-line three cylinder engine. If these figures hold true, Ducati’s XDiavel is in for some sleepless nights.

For starters, the motorcycle gets new wide, flat handlebars with a redesigned tank that takes inspiration from the Bonneville Speedmaster. With a completely redesigned rear-end that seems to house a side-mounted monoshock and a single-sided swingarm a-la Ducati XDiavel, the gargantuan cruiser is leaning more towards the performance cruiser genre.

It’s safe to assume that the Rocket III will be loaded with IMU-driven tech including traction control with riding modes and cornering ABS. Since Triumph is throwing all the top-shelf equipment at the bike, we presume a set of Brembo M50 calipers will drop the anchor on this beast.  The motorcycle will feature LED illumination and could have keyless ignition.

While there is no official word from Triumph Motorcycles, we believe the motorcycle will see the dawn mid next year.
