We take a sneak peak at what Yamaha is likely to unveil in India tomorrow. Here is the three things that we are looking forward to from the naked performance bike.

The teaser that Yamaha showcased a few days before.
  1. Engine and Frame

The new quarter-litre performance bike is expected to share the underpinnings with the FZ 250 which is sold in Brazil. It is speculated to come with a single-cylinder, air-cooled 249cc engine  nestled in a diamond frame. Yamaha haven’t disclosed the power figures of the bike.

  1. Design and technical details

Looking at the design theme of the bike, it gets a muscular fuel tank with faux air intake scoops on either side. The headlight design remains resembles a bit to the MT-03 and the rear end of the bike gets a  split seat and smartly designed tail tidy along with a stubbier exhaust muffler. On the specifications aspect, the bike will get a standard telescopic suspension at the front and a mono-shock suspension setup at the back. The bike is also set to get front and rear disc brakes but it isn’t confirmed if the bike would get an option of ABS.

  1. Who will the bike directed to

Looking at the prototype bike which has been testing around India, the upright seating position of the test rider suggests that the bike is designed to look like a naked performance quarter-litre bike. The riding posture quite different as compared to the FZ-S, the handlebars is placed lowered then than the FZ-S and the footpeg positioning is also more on the sportier side.

Now once the bike is launched, it would face immense competition from the likes of as the upcoming Bajaj NS 200, TVS Apache 200 4V and the DSK Benelli TNT 25. Prices are expected to be somewhere around the Rs 1.90 lakh mark (estimated).
