Kawasaki India opens bookings for MY20 Ninja ZX-6R

Customers can book the bike for a initial amount of Rs 1.5 lakh at all Kawasaki dealerships across the country

With the festive season around the corner, Kawasaki India has announced bookings for the MY20 Ninja ZX-6R for an amount of Rs 1.5 lakh, across all its dealerships in the country. Pricing of the bike will be announced in due course, says the company. The bike will be locally assembled at its facility in Chakan, Pune. Starting today, the bookings are open till November 30 and based on the pre bookings for the first lot, Kawasaki will decide bookings for future lots. The company will produce limited numbers for the first lot and bookings will be closed after reaching targeted numbers. Deliveries of the Ninja ZX-6R are expected to take place after January 2019.

The bike will be available in KRT edition and it features a redesigned front fascia. Underpinning the Ninja ZX-6R will the perimeter frame, made of pressed aluminium. Powering the bike will be the inline 4-cylinder liquid cooled engine optimised for street performance, says Kawasaki. The tech specs of the bike are not yet revealed. Kawasaki says that the MY20 Ninja ZX-6R will have better mid-corner stability and improved handling.

The bike will be loaded with rider aids and safety features including KIBS (Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Brake System), KTRC (Kawasaki Traction Control), LED headlights and quickshifter. The instrument console will be part digital part analogue.  The bike will be shod with Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S22 tyres for better grip in dry and wet conditions.

On the MY20 Ninja ZX-6R, Yutaka Yamashita, managing director, India Kawasaki Motors Pvt. Ltd said, “First of all we appreciate the support from many Kawasaki fans in India. ZX-10R is the most affordable championship machine in India. Now by bringing Ninja ZX-6R in India, we are not only expanding the pool of supersport bikes but we are also creating an exciting option in the middleweight class. We are pleased to present an opportunity to supersport enthusiasts as same as ZX-10R. The customers will get an excellent opportunity to pre-book their Ninja ZX-6R during this Diwali.”
