Harley Davisdon launches the Street Rod 750

The third bike in the Street series (second in India), Harley Davidson launch their Street Rod 750 in India. The bike is a sportier version of the Street 750, which was launched in 2014.

With revised steering geometry, a raised seat height, flat-wide handlebars and 17-inch rims at both ends, the riding stance of the Street Rod 750 is made to be more adaptable to street riding rather than the laidback approach on the baby Street 750.

The 749cc Revolution-X V-twin engine has been reworked to produce 61Nm of torque, two more than the standard Street 750. This has been achieved by means of a larger air box, new dual 42mm throttle bodies, new four-valve cylinder heads and high-lift camshafts. All of these have given an 11 per cent bump in power which now peaks at 8,250rpm.

Stylised in Harley’s signature Dark Custom theme, the Street Rod 750 comes in three colours – Vivid Black, Charcoal Denim and Olive Gold.

Chetan Shedjale, Senior Motorcycle Designer, Harley-Davidson added, “American racing is something very inspirational to the world, it was a key factor in styling inspiration and resulted in substantial changes to the look of the all-new Harley-Davidson Street Rod. Everything was looked at to be performance oriented, street-fighter inspired but with a Harley image and Americana. It is designed to deliver the style and agility demanded in an urban environment where our riders will experience this motorcycle in.”

Pallavi Singh, Director Marketing, Harley-Davidson India said, “We are thrilled to launch Harley-Davidson Street Rod in India which has a growing population of young adults. The model is built to appeal a specific demographic in this space. As a customer-led organization, a key part of our strategy is to attract and retain new riders in India.”

The Street Rod 750 comes at a premium of Rs. 95,000 over the Street 750. For the price tag of Rs. 5.86 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the Street Rod 750 looks like an exciting proposition and will give the Triumph Street Twin a run for its money. While you can head to your nearest Harley showrooms to get a peek of the new vehicle, the test-rides and deliveries will start post April 21.
